Borough of Lansford

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING  The Borough of Lansford is contracted with Tamaqua Transfer and Recycling for the hauling of garbage and recycling.  

Collection Schedule: Pick up for all residents East of Springgarden Street is on Thursday. Pick up for all residents West of Springgarden Street is Friday. Garbage should not be placed outside of the residence or business more than 24 hours in advance.  

Bulk Items: Only one bulk item may be placed out per week. If your bulk item is a white good (washer, dryer, refrigerator, etc.) please contact Tamaqua Transfer to arrange a pick up. (570)668-4515 

Notice: No home construction or demolition debris will be picked up by the hauler. If you need to have construction materials hauled, please contact Tamaqua Transfer or another waste hauler.  

Holidays: Trash will not be collected on holidays.  The hauler schedules the changes in pick-up and they are responsible for advertising the notices in the Times News. The delays will be also be available at the Lansford Borough Office.

NO HAZARDOUS WASTE!  Car batteries, gasoline, motor oil, pesticides, oil-base paints and other toxic and hazardous materials do not belong in the trash. Contact Carbon County’s Solid Waste Department at (610)852-5111 for information on the disposal of these materials. Many auto stores accept used motor oil and car batteries.  

Recycling: Recycled materials will be picked up biweekly on Monday. Although recycling is not mandated, Lansford Borough Council encourages and promotes recycling.
